Because ISOM graduates have received a quality, spiritual education, Christian Leadership University is honored to give that education the recognition it deserves.
Christian Leadership University is a distance education college, exempt from state licensure provisions by the Louisiana Board of Regents because it offers only religious degrees. One of the goals of Christian Leadership University is to recognize and offer documentation for Bible institute diplomas as well as the life experience and other non-college learning of qualified individuals.
Christian Leadership University is accredited by Christian Accreditation International.
Christian Leadership University was also certified by the Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability (ACEA) for the entire 11 years of ACEA’s existence (1998–2009). Dr. C. Peter Wagner, head of the Wagner Institute for Practical Ministry, formed this group as an alternative to traditional accreditation for the new apostolic churches that are emerging. They have now changed the acronym ACEA to the name of their new entity, “Association of Christian Educators and Administrators.”

Both CAI and ACEA provide evaluation and accountability without distorting the purpose and vision of Christian Leadership University.
Christian Leadership University is privately accredited and offers religious-exempt degrees. Although Christian Accreditation International accredits this degree, CLU is not listed with the U.S. Department of Education, and a CLU degree is specifically not suited for people pursuing jobs as public school teachers, state university professors, state-licensed psychologists, amongst other vocations, and that some states may have restrictions on ways this degree can be utilized in the marketplace (though these restrictions may be superseded by a recent unanimous Supreme Court Ruling, Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission).
Associate’s Degree from CLU: If you are an ISOM student, please contact ISOM directly if you desire to receive an associate’s degree from CLU upon the completion of ISOM’s 2-year program. CLU considers ISOM’s 2-year program, when coupled with your life experience credits, to be deserving of an Associate in Biblical Studies degree. (Note: Because ISOM’s courses are completed in local church settings among active growing Christians, CLU assumes that life experience credits will be present. CLU does not require any forms or paperwork be completed to confirm these life experience credits.)
You also must complete the Student Release Form and submit it to CLU before you can receive your degree.
Bachelor and Masters Degrees from CLU: If you have completed additional years of training along with ISOM, then you may be eligible to receive a higher degree from CLU. Contact CLU directly to discuss obtaining these higher degrees.
  1. Those who have an associate’s degree plus ISOM’s 2-year training may receive 90 credits toward a bachelor’s degree from CLU.
  2. Those who have a bachelor’s degree plus ISOM’s 2-year training may receive 13 credits completed toward a master’s degree.
  3. Avail yourself of any of CLU's 130+ exciting Spirit-anointed correspondence courses as you work toward bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. View CLU’s entire catalog at www.cluonline.com.
To receive a Bachelor or Master’s degree from Christian Leadership University, students must complete the following minimum standards:
  • Be enrolled in CLU. Submit the required New Student Application Form (www.cluonline.com/apply) with $25. ISOM students will generally already be enrolled with CLU.
  • Complete a total of 120 credits for bachelor’s, 40 additional for a master’s and 40-60 additional for a doctoral degree. The standard CLU requires is 25 hours of learning experience for each credit awarded.
  • A minimum of one three-credit course from the Renewal Concentration must be taken directly with CLU for each degree sought. All CLU bachelor’s and master’s students must take REN103 or REN503 (Communion With God). If the student has already taken this course and all other Renewal (REN) courses CLU offers, he may pick a 3-credit course from the Ministry, Counseling or Theology Concentrations. REN103/503 can be ordered by scrolling down this page.
  • Students seeking a master’s degree will receive 13 master level credits for the completion of ISOM’s 5 trimesters. To complete the 40 credit CLU masters degree they must complete REN503 plus a minimum of two additional courses of their choosing. These can be any courses in the CLU catalog. If it is not a 500 numbered course, then an extra assignment will be added to it to bring it up to a master’s level course. The balance of the 40 master’s credits will be earned through the submission of a Life Experience Portfolio.
  • Pay CLU a graduation fee of $75.

STUDENT TESTIMONIES
What others are saying:
"I've never loved studying and taking courses as much as I am loving my coursework through CLU. God is so amazing!"
— Linda Geyer
Phoenix, AZ
"ISOM (International School of Ministry) & Christian Leadership University offers without a doubt the most challenging and rewarding teachings I have ever received. I recommend this school to anyone who is serious about their Christian walk. You will never be the same after you take this journey."
— John Shabani – Tanzania
"My comparison of CLU’s curriculum to courses I have taken from four other online colleges:
  • CLU has the most clear and easily followed course instructions I have seen.
  • CLU training is streamlined and to the point with excellent personal application.
  • Instructor feedback has been immediate.
I am really enjoying my studies and I am learning a great deal. As I teach this material after studying it, it has been a great benefit to my church, while deepening the message within me. Your courses are so well designed I can apply the material into sermons as well as Sunday night Bible studies. I have recommended these books to people in my church and my wife is even teaching from them in her women’s group. For me, this has become an excellent combination of study and then teaching what I have learned. I have discovered things about seeking God that I did not know existed. Thank you."
— Pastor Ernie Jones,
Master of Divinity Student with CLU

"I so enjoy the Lamad method of learning (and teaching). My learning from CLU has impacted my preaching, teaching, pastoral work, family, personal life, etc. I appreciate the fact that you have taken some risks to follow the path on which the Lord has led you. I am most grateful."
— Rev. John Donnelly
Wayne, New Jersey
"Prior to enrolling at CLU, I had already earned three graduate degrees, including the Ph.D. But none of those educational experiences came close to the transformational impact of my studies at CLU. At first, I had no intention of pursuing another degree. In fact, I came across CLU while doing a web search on how to hear the voice of God. I was at a point in my life when I was hungry to hear God clearly and to know Him more intimately.
When I found Dr. Virkler's course, Communion with God, I immediately enrolled with the intention of taking only that course. But when I began to notice how Communion with God was radically changing my life, I wanted more. So that course led to another and then to another, until, finally, I have now completed the Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Counseling.
It has been a most remarkable journey, one that I strongly encourage others to take. The faculty and staff at CLU are wonderful. Each loves God deeply, and this love is reflected in their selfless giving to their students. I am so thankful to our Lord, to Drs. Mark and Patti Virkler, to Dr. Karen King, and to the entire faculty and staff at CLU for playing a major role in helping me to become more like Jesus Christ. There is nothing I desire more and, in my opinion, nothing more to be desired.

I do not have the words to share with you right now, Mr. Virkler, but I will say that you have changed my life. Your obedience to God has affected my family, friends and community.
The Doctorate at CLU was the most important education I have ever had and will ever get. I received my B.A in education and my M.A. in counseling from The University of Phoenix. My Doctorate with CLU is the most precious part of my educational journey. Glory be to God! My Doctorate from Walden University will allow me to be a certified instructor in the State of Arizona but nothing can ever take the place of my Doctorate from CLU. I will buy your books for my clients.Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallrightquote.gif

How Lorraine O'Neal learned to hear God's voice — 25 years after becoming a Christian!
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifDear Dr. Virkler, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your teaching and ministry. God has used you to radically change my life.
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifI've been a Christian for over 25 years, but always struggled to hear God speak. I never heard anything! Anytime someone would tell me 'God told me…' I would get angry because He never told me anything! I could really relate to your story.
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifSeveral years ago, a friend (whom I think you've met via the telephone) here in Anchorage, Alaska, gave me a copy of your tape '4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice.' (God must have told him how much I struggled in this area!) Anyway, I was skeptical, and thought if there were really 4 simple keys, I should have discovered them by this time, as I had a strong Bible background and prayer life. But, having nothing to lose, I decided to listen anyway. Amazingly, and stunningly, the principles worked just as you simply explained! I was so thrilled.
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifSince that time, my relationship with the Lord has blossomed and grown more than I can describe. Thank you. I ordered your workbook, and went through the Communion with God teachings, and I love to journal.
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifI am a teacher, so I want to explain things so other people 'get it'. I knew that if I had struggled this much over the years to hear from God, others must have the same difficulty. I talked with our pastor and with Dave Brock (a local prayer counselor and member of our church) and we developed a workshop called 'Hearing the Voice of God.'
Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallleftquote.gifWe present a number of short teachings on the many ways (including Journaling) God speaks....We've done 5 quarterly workshops so far. The participants are always wowed out and tell us their lives will never be the same. I'm thrilled that I get to participate in their God discoveries. So thanks be to God and to you for your impact on lives across the country!Description: http://www.cluonline.com/images/smallrightquote.gif

What to say about Christian Leadership University?  Great, amazing, wonderful, organized, practical, you can do it, great subjects, and… “old fashioned”. Yes, that’s right,  I said “old fashioned”… Why??  Simply because it is about spiritual disciplines such as quieting down before the Lord,  prayer,  listening,  journaling, Bible memorization, Bible reading, etc.
These disciplines are rare today, but are so much needed in our lives and in our world. Pastors, lay leaders, Christians in general, we are just so busy and therefore have a hard time to quiet down and listen to the Lord before we do anything or to simply obey Him. But I have discovered that it is the secret for a successful and powerful ministry.
CLU taught me about how to experience Communion with Almighty God. It taught me about increasing communication with God, hearing from God. It taught me about journaling in a dialogue form, me speaking to Him and Him speaking to me. It was and still is a great experience.
We came from Brazil (our home country), to Canada about three years ago. We are pastoring a small country church in interior Saskatchewan and I am so glad I found CLU. These classes have helped me literally keep going in ministry. During these years I registered with CLU and was able to finish my Doctor of Ministry degree in December of 2011.
Special thanks to Drs. Mark and Patti Virkler and to Dr. Karen King my student advisor, who helped me achieve this goal. They have a passion for the Lord and love to see people grow in their relationship with Him. It was a great experience. I want to encourage you today… slow down, stop, listen to the Lord first, obey, and then work as much as you can. You will be blessed and will experience success in your life and ministry.

HISTORIA YA DON MOEN - ASHEREHEKEA MIAKA 40 YA NDOA

Don Moen na mrs

Mtoto wa Don, John na kipenzi chake Sarah

From Don Moen

Wow! I’m sitting here in St. Thomas, USVI reading over all the wonderful greetings and blessings from friends all over the world. My heart is touched deeply! And, I receive all of your many blessings and kind words! Yes, God has been so faithful!
Several of you have asked how it all began, so I thought I’d respond briefly. Laura and I got married May 19th, 1973 after a concert in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We had been touring South Africa and Europe for 12 months prior to that. Laura was a nanny to Evangelist Terry Law’s 8 month old girl (Misty) and our team photographer! We had met at Oral Roberts University two years earlier in April 1971. It was love at first sight (at least for me!). It took Laura a little longer!! Ha!!
I toured for the next year with a singing group, Living Sound, while Laura remained at ORU. After her semester ended in May 1972, I asked her to come travel with our group on the road for a couple of weeks so we could be together. While she was visiting me, she began to take care of Terry and Jan Law’s little baby girl, and when it came time for her to leave, Terry and Jan asked her if she’d be willing to stay for the year and take care of the baby while Jan sang. I was thrilled!! My girlfriend was going to be traveling with me throughout Europe and Southern Africa!
I proposed to Laura in April 1973, in Johannesburg South Africa at the end of our tour there. I sold my bass guitar (a beautiful 1963 Fender Jazz Bass) and bought our rings, the same ones we are wearing today! We returned to the USA in May with Living Sound to begin a tour of the churches that supported our missionary trip, which included a two day stop (Saturday and Sunday) in Minneapolis. The church met at a beautiful old theater on 14th and Nicollet Avenue.
Laura and I were married after our concert Saturday night. After the concert, Terry Law told the audience, “Following the concert tonight you’re all invited to stay for the wedding of our guitarist, Don Moen and his fiancé, Laura Shrock.” The wedding started at 10:00 PM and I had a thousand people at my wedding that I didn’t know!! The entire Living Sound group sang at my wedding and I played Love Is A Many Splendored Thing on my violin as Laura walked down the aisle. She was beautiful! The church was kind enough to provide cake, punch and coffee for all the guests, and my buddy Joe Anderson was kind enough to take some pictures. Laura bought her dress on sale for $85 and someone graciously paid for our stay at the Ramada Inn for our honeymoon. Our entire wedding cost $350!!!
While the group sang on Sunday, Laura and I were given the day off, and we were back on the road staying in people’s homes on Tuesday! People would ask us how long we’d been married and you should have seen the look on their faces when we told them “2 days”!!! We just kept traveling, and haven’t really stopped except to have 5 children in between. What a fabulous journey! Yes there have been challenges but through it all, we have found that God is faithful! Here’s to the next 40 years Babe!!
