Kama mwalimu wa sauti leo nimelazimika kuleta somo hili kutokana na maombi ya watu wengi mno!!(waimbaji na watoa hotuba)kutia ndani walimu na wahubiri .
Yawezekana umekuwa ukijiuliza,tunapozungumzia dhana nzima ya kukauka au kupotea kwa sauti,hivi huwa ina enda wapi???sijui kama ume wahi jiuliza swali hili mpenzi msomaji,leo na kuendelea utapata majibu mengi ya maswali yako kupitia mtiririko wa vipindi hivi. 
UIMBAJI ni kazi ngumu inayohitaji virutubisho vya kutia nguvu mwili ambavyo vinapatikana kwenye vyakula pamoja na baadhi ya vinywaji vinavyotumika katika maisha ya kila siku.
Asilimia kubwa ya waimbaji wameshindwa kuimba katika ubora unaopaswa kutokana na kutozingatia kanuni na taratibu za uimbaji.
Kwa hali ya kawaida kuna vinywaji na baadhi ya vyakula vinashauliwa kutumiwa kwa ajili ya afya, lakini vinaweza kukatazwa kwa wasanii ambao wanataka kupaza sauti zao.
Kutokana na tafiti mbalimbali zilizofanywa na wataalamu, imegundulika kwamba kuna baadhi ya vyakula na vinywaji havipaswi kutumiwa na wasanii wa muziki ambavyo ni:
Vinywaji vyenye kafeni
Mwimbaji hapaswi kutumia vinywaji vyenye kafeni kama vile kahawa, soda jamii ya cola, chai nyeusi, wakati anataka kurekodi wimbo na hata wakati wa kuimba.
Vinywaji hivyo vinakatazwa kwa wasanii kwa kuwa vinachochea mkojo wa mara kwa mara, hivyo mwili wa binadamu unapunguza kiasi kikubwa cha maji kwa muda mfupi, hata hivyo hali hiyo inapoteza umakini wa kufanya jambo kwa wakati.
Vinywaji na vyakula vyenye gesi
Baadhi ya vinywaji vyenye gesi vinasababisha tumbo kujaa, hivyo msanii akiwa anataka kurekodi au kuimba anaweza kupata tatizo la kubeua.
Baadhi ya vyakula vinavyoweza kusababisha gesi tumboni ni pamoja na maharage, vitunguu, kabichi, kunde na vingine, wakati huo vinywaji ni pamoja na soda na pombe zote zenye gesi, kwa kuwa
husababisha gesi au hewa tumboni, hivyo kusumbua wakati wa kuimba.
Vyakula vyenye kuacha makapi kooni
Kwa hali ya kawaida koo ya mwimbaji inatakiwa kuwa safi kila wakati hasa pale anapotaka kuimba, hivyo akiwa amekula chakula ambacho kinaweza kubakia kooni, kinaweza kusababisha sauti kuwa na mikwaruzo.
Hata hivyo, wakati wa kuimba unaweza kupata tatizo la chembechembe kurukia kwenye koo la hewa na kusababisha mwimbaji kushindwa kupumua vizuri.
Baadhi ya vyakula ambavyo havipaswi kutumiwa na mwimbaji ni pamoja na bisi, tambi kavu, chama, mahindi, karanga na vinginevyo.
Hata hivyo, mwimbaji hatakiwi kula vyakula ambavyo vinaweza kumsababishia kooni kuacha uteute.

Mwimbaji pia hapaswi kutumia sigara, tumbako, bangi, ugoro na aina yoyote ya madawa ya kulevya, kwani vinaathiri koo na mapafu, ikiwa ni sehemu muhimu sana katika utengenezaji wa sauti bora za uimbaji.

I coach singers of all backgrounds, experience levels, and age groups, either at one of my studios or on site. 
For that reason, I have organized a Whatsapp group for ambitious singers of all ages, all tribes, all nations and levels who want to connect with other singers. 
Group Rules... If you are a part of other groups, I am sure you know how this works! Violation of the rules will result in exclusion from the group!
I want that group to be a place of positivity and encouragement. No negativity allowed! Critique must always be constructive, polite, and motivating.

WHAT TO EAT & WHAT TO AVOID FOR A GOOD SINGING VOICE

Seasoned professional singers know that a healthy body equates to a healthy voice. If you encounter any singer, whether opera or pop, they’ll give you a list of what they eat and what they try to avoid. Here’s a compilation of what food is good for singing and what’s bad for your throat:
GOOD: Drink as much water as you can. Ideally, room temperature to ensure you are well hydrated.
GOOD: Non-gassy liquids – One of the best foods for the singing voice is actually liquids. According to the New York Times, the Metropolitan Opera singers usually request for drinks like water and Snapple before they go on stage. Singers HAVE to stay hydrated, especially when they go for long periods of singing without breaks. It’s also best to have non-fizzy liquids to avoid the risk of burping while singing. Soprano Patricia prefers watered-down Gatorade as it gives her an energy boost of sugar and electrolytes while she performs and also keeps her throat moist.
GOOD: Honey – one of the best foods to eat before singing is honey as it soothes the throat (now you know why so many lozenges have honey in them!). Mix honey with warm water and a little bit of lemon juice (not so much as lemon can dry the throat) to get a particularly soothing and calming drink before you sing.
GOOD: Foods with high water content – these include watermelon, apples, bok choy, and celery! These foods are good for singing as they hydrate your throat. Clear, broth soups are also one of the best foods for the singing voice – miso soup, ABC soup, Lotus Pork Rib Soup, and chicken soup are good examples, especially because the vegetables included in the soups will give you an extra vitamin boost! Take note though – tomato-based soups and cream-based soups are not good for the singing voice as they may cause acid reflux and increase phlegm production.
GOOD: Protein sources – foods like roast chicken or baked fish are good foods for singing as they are lean sources of protein, which is essential for having energy and feeling full for longer periods, especially if the singer has a long show to perform.
BAD: Dairy products – avoids eating dairy products as it creates phlegm and makes it difficult to sing. These include foods with cheese, milk, or cream.
BAD: Caffeine and alcohol – these beverages are bad for singing as both caffeine and alcohol are diuretics, which leads to dehydration and therefore the constriction of the throat muscles. Tightness in the throat is not good for singing, as it disables the vocal folds from vibrating freely.
BAD: Chocolate – avoids eating chocolate on performance days as it makes the voice sound ‘furry.’ Indeed, chocolate coats the back of the throat and creates more phlegm; it may also cause acid reflux, which is not ideal for classical singers, whose voices need to sound crystal clear onstage.
BAD: Anything too oily and spicy – this will come as bad news for singers who enjoy fast food or Asian food. These foods are bad for the singing voice as they grease up your throat and cause phlegm. Spicy foods in particular also cause heartburn. While eating these once in a while may be fine, try to avoid eating these foods on performance day!
TAKE THIS;
Having said all of that, everyone’s level of tolerance for certain foods is different, because we are all physically different! Some singers might drink coffee between rehearsals and still sound fine, while others will follow this list fervently because their voices are more sensitive. It’s up to you as a singer to gage which foods are good for your singing and which foods tickle your throat (in a bad way).

Kila mhubiri/ muimbaji, au mtumiaji mzuri wa kipaza sauti (microphone) atakubaliana na mimi kwamba kuna wakati kipaza sauti hutoa harufu mbaya.
Harufu hiyo inaweza kusababisha magonjwa kama kansa ya koo (throat cancer, kifua kikuu (tubaculoses), flu virus (virusi vya mafua), kuaribiwa sauti au kupoteza sauti na mengineyo.
Je! Umewahijiuliza kwa nini umekuwa na kawaida kikohozi wakati wote hasa baada ya shughuli ya uimbaji?
Watu wengi katika huduma hutumia kipaza sauti vibaya kwasababu ya kukosa nidhamu kisha kuhifadhi mate ndani na wakati mwingine harufu kali. Ukweli ni kwamba unatumia mic husika chochote alichokiacha humo ndani ikiwepo maambukizi fulani lazima yakuathiri.
Tafadhali jaribu kuosha kipaza sauti chako kila Jumamosi kama zinatumika kwa masuala ya ibada, au kila mara baada ya matumizi hasa kama wanaotumia ni watu tofauti. Yapo madhara mengine mengi ikiwepo pia kutu
Taadhari, kinachosafishwa ni kichwa cha kipaza sauti pamoja na sponji yake. Usije ukasema kocha kasema tudumbukize mic kwenye maji, sitaki kesi. Na hizi ni zile mic kwa ajili ya live performance maana zipo aina nyingi za mic na zingine kama za studio au kuigizia filamu zina ulizi wa kutosha lakini pia zipo zile za watangazaji na hata wahubiri na waimbaji walioendelee au wenye uwezo ambazo si rahisi kuathiriwa. Zipo ambazo huwezi kuziona kirahisi. Zingine huwekwa kwenye kola ya nguo, zingine kuzungushwa sikioni au kichwani...

SOME DRINKS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOUR VOICE

1. Green tea
Everyone goes on about green tea these days and for good reason; it’s packed with antioxidants and has a plethora of other health benefits. BUT it is terrible for your voice. green tea has a really drying effect and reduces the lubrication around your vocal folds making you more susceptible to developing things like a sore throat (at best) or a vocal node (at worst).
I drink green tea all the time generally, but avoid it the day I am due to sing.
2. Milk
Unless you are lactose intolerant, milk is pretty good for you. It is packed with calcium and it has been debated that it can actually help with weight loss. However, milk is the #1 cause for phlegm build up in singers and phlegm is every singer’s worst enemy.
It sticks to the back of your throat and nasal cavity requiring you to clear your throat when you are singing. Sometimes phlegm can cause your voice to sound as if it is cracking; which is actually your air breaking through the phlegm at the back of your throat.
Those with a tendency to sound nasal sound also steer clear of all milky drinks because it can exacerbate the problem. Milk and singing just don’t mix.
3. Beer and wine
It is common practice to be given a bar tab when you are performing but steer clear of wine and beer as both can affect your singing in different ways. Wine is generally packed with preservatives which dry out your throat. Depending on the brand and quality of the wine, this is not quite as bad as green tea, but you generally don’t want to do anything that will affect the quality of your voice so try a rum or brandy instead.
Beer (or anything carbonated for that matter) causes bloating and gas and you don’t want either when you’re up on stage singing into a mic. When you sing, you need to keep your stomach muscles relaxed so you can use your diaphragm to breathe. If you are bloated, you feel tight around this area and your breathing will suffer.
And as for gas? Well it speaks for itself. If you’re singing into a microphone, the audience can hear every little noise you make and it’s really not attractive trying to stifle a belch during a romantic ballad!
4. Ice cubes (or any cold water)
Avoid ice in your drink because anything cold is not good for your vocal folds. Think of singing like you would playing sport. You want to be nice and warm before you go for that massive sprint to avoid injury. Same goes for singing. I prefer to drink warm tea during a gig (preferably peppermint or licorice root tea; both are fabulous for singers.)
5. Garlic
Well, this a food not a drink and we’re actually talking vocal hygiene here but if you think about how close your mouth gets to the mic and how long you spend breathing into that one spot, it makes sense to steer clear of super smelly foods like garlic before you do a gig.
Many singers use their own mics at gigs and it’s for this very reason. I personally don’t like putting my lips on someone else’s leftover bacteria and I’m pretty sure you won’t either. Garlic can leave a lingering smell on your microphone, so unless you are prepared to clean your mic thoroughly with each use, choose another dinner companion.
